Expertise and Experience
Jim is a Principal Solicitor with over four decades of experience in law. He commenced at Baldock Stacy & Niven in 1974 as an articled clerk and has been with the firm ever since. Jim’s extensive knowledge of law is matched by his local knowledge of Orange and surrounds – the Central West is his patch. His forte and focus is on property, corporate and commercial law.
Jim leads Baldock Stacy & Niven’s conveyancing team, managing a large client base of individual and commercial property buyers, sellers and developers. He also has extensive experience in all types of commercial leasing matters.
Jim’s experience in the corporate and commercial environment includes acting for numerous small to medium sized businesses, credit unions, local government authorities, State government agencies and I.T. businesses. Local businesses and agencies look to him for his leadership and problem-solving approach in the complex areas of corporate and commercial law.
Education and Qualifications
Jim was admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1979, and was welcomed as a BS&N partner in 1980.
Jim has served as an Executive Board Member of Wontama Nursing Home for 17 years and has also acted as Company Secretary for a public company. He is an active member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Chartered Secretaries Limited.
Jim’s breadth of experience and knowledge is a significant asset to the firm. His ability to think outside the square and find simple solutions to complex problems means he is a highly effective and sought after solicitor.
Jim’s pursuit of results for his clients is relentless and clients can rely on him to fight tirelessly for them. Jim is always willing to help in the community and does a significant amount of pro bono work or work at minimal cost for disadvantaged members of our community.
